Welcome to Neighbourhood Series by food.and.grace, where she eats, explores, and discovers everything Carlisle Street has to offer.
This episode Grace visits Levanter Cafe and Lulu Design Store.
Founded by Sam and his mother following their journey from Syria to Melbourne, Levanter Cafe introduces authentic Middle Eastern home-style cooking to the local dining scene. Built on a foundation of deep-rooted family traditions, the café centers its menu around recipes crafted directly by Sam’s mother. From small-batch cheeses to hand-blended signature sauces, every element is prepared in-house using traditional techniques passed down through generations. The result is a welcoming, sensory culinary experience that celebrates both heritage and hospitality.
Just steps away sits Lulu Design Store, a colorful lifestyle boutique owned and operated by local retailer Sally. Conceived as a treasure trove of global and local design, the shop features an eclectic mix of thoughtfully sourced goods. Visitors can explore a continuously rotating inventory of Homewares, Decor, Accessories, Apparel, Paper Goods and Gifts.
